Welcome

From the President

Excitement is palpable across Barry University as initiatives to create the university of the future begin to roll out. In the past year, we have advanced relationships and launched collaborations that extend Barry’s reach and deepen its impact. From expanding academic programs that meet the needs of an evolving workforce to strengthening our academic offerings, Barry is creating new avenues for our students to learn, lead, and serve.

Partnerships with public and private corporations are creating pathways for future educators. Revitalized relationships with healthcare institutions, new leadership, and vision are driving growth for the College of Health Professions and Medical Sciences. A recently opened artificial intelligence center serves as the hub of Barry’s expansion into artificial intelligence and machine learning. Institutional technological advancements are supporting students throughout each step of their academic pursuits, and our educational leaders continue to embed innovation across disciplines.

With 29 national championships and hundreds of All-Americans, our student-athletes consistently excel both on and off the field. Earlier this fall, we announced the addition of men’s and women’s lacrosse, bringing the total number of varsity sports at Barry to 23. Additionally, we have entered into an agreement with Miami Country Day School for the use of our athletic facilities and the acceleration of a full renovation and transformation of our fields, bleachers, and press box to support the expansion of our athletic offerings. These efforts reflect the shared belief of our faculty, staff, alumni, and supporters in the transformative power of a Barry University education.

As you will see in this magazine, our students remain the heart of our institution. Their stories of resilience, innovation, and leadership inspire and provide hope throughout our larger community. Whether through groundbreaking research, service, or success on the global stage, they remind us why Barry exists; to empower individuals who are ready to shape a better tomorrow.

To our alumni, partners, and friends, I thank you for your unwavering support. It is your belief in our mission that allows Barry to thrive and expand its legacy of excellence.

Together, we are building a future defined by impact, innovation, and compassion.

Sincerely,

Mike Allen, Ph.D.
President.
