Academics Barry Launches Partnership with Cardinal Gibbons High School as Part of EMT Program

Barry University is proud to announce a new partnership with Cardinal Gibbons High School through our EMT program. Students with an aspiring career as an Emergency Medical Technician can study to earn their EMT Certification and gain the strong foundation necessary to sit for the National Registry Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) certification exam.

Students enrolled in the program will get hands-on lab instruction by paramedic professionals.  They will also gain valuable field experience, with a chance to work directly with local healthcare workers during clinical rotations. Students will experience the work of a first responder in local hospital and fire departments, including Holy Cross Hospital, Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue and Oakland Park Fire Rescue.

The EMT Program is significant to our educational community because in addition to preparing students for successful future careers, it also provides a direct pathway to jobs in the community.
