Each fall, the Alpha Alpha Xi chapter of the Sigma Tau Delgado English honor society recognizes excellence in English among Barry University students.
At this year’s induction ceremony, faculty advisor Dr. Patty Feito welcomed new members Junior Dameus, Arabella Ford, Anastasia Hedditch, and Brandon Williams.
Dr. Celeste Landeros opened the ceremony with a reflection on the vulture as a symbol of the lessons we learn from literature.
Keynote speaker Dr. Paige Banaji revealed the role majoring in English played in the writing and advocacy of famed environmentalist Marjory Stoneman Douglas.
The inductees were feted by family and friends over a beautiful cake decorated with the Sigma Tau Delta logo.
