Barry University’s Sport and Exercise Sciences students Maya Caon and Jared Ward, under the mentorship of Dr. Zacharias Papadakis, have achieved a major milestone by being selected for the Greater New York ACSM President’s Cup. Their research on the body composition effects of preseason training in women’s NCAA DII basketball players demonstrates how focused training can lead to significant performance gains.
Their study, which took place in Barry’s Human Performance Laboratory, highlights the importance of structured training and supports the vital role of preseason preparation in collegiate sports. Best of luck to Maya and Jared as they present their findings on November 9th at NYU Langone.
