Core Commitments Luncheon: Carrying Our Mission into the Future

On Wednesday, November 5, 2025, Barry University hosted its annual Core Commitments Luncheon in Andreas 111 as part of Founders’ Week. This longstanding tradition brought faculty and staff together for reflection, connection, and renewed engagement with the university’s mission and heritage.

The luncheon centered on lay leadership and the shared responsibility of carrying the Adrian Dominican charism into the future. Featured speaker Sister Elise D. García, OP, Prioress of the Adrian Dominican Congregation, reflected on contemporary challenges in higher education and invited participants to consider how mission-driven leadership can be lived out across roles and disciplines. The gathering reinforced Barry University’s commitment to honoring its founders while strengthening a collective sense of purpose in service of the future.
