Who We Are

The Student Government Association at Barry University is the official voice and representative body of the student community. We advocate for student needs, enhance campus life, and work to strengthen the connection between students, faculty, staff, and administration. Through leadership, service, and collaboration, SGA strives to create a vibrant and engaged campus environment where every student feels heard, supported, and empowered. We develop initiatives, support student organizations, and champion policies that promote academic excellence, community engagement, and the overall well-being of the Barry student body. As student leaders, we are committed to upholding Barry’s core values and making campus life better, one project, program, and conversation at a time.

Prospective Members

  • A minimum of 6 office hours per week

    • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
    • Must be in good academic and conduct standing
    • Must not be on university probation
    • Must be a full-time student (12 or more credit hours per semester)
    • Develop strong leadership and social skills
    • Enhance your resume
    • Networking and connecting with staff, alumni, business owners and more!
    • Gain experience in event planning, marketing, implementation, and assessment
