Our STEM Programs
STEM isn’t one-size-fits-all. Whether you’re passionate about unlocking the mysteries of the universe, understanding life in all its forms, or creating technology that transforms industries, Barry University has the programs to match your interest and ambitions.
Biology
Are you ready to unlock the mysteries of the natural world? From molecules and cells to wildlife and the environment, Biology @ Barry University is anything but ordinary.
Surrounded by bodies of water and diverse ecosystems, you’ll have the opportunity to study some of the most fascinating and unique species right in our own backyard. And if medical school is your goal, our pre-professional track will give you the competitive edge to apply for graduate programs in medicine, dentistry, optometry, veterinary science, and more.
Chemistry and Physics
Are you curious about the mysteries of the universe, or eager to discover the science behind elements? Barry’s Department of Chemistry and Physics gives you the tools to explore, discover, and innovate.
In Chemistry, you’ll investigate the science of matter, from unlocking the secrets of chemical reactions to discovering the possibilities of new elements – because chemistry isn’t just about what we can see and touch. You’ll study how compounds behave and interact, and uncover the vital role they play in health, technology, and the environment.
In Physics, you’ll study the forces that shape the universe – from the motion of everyday objects to the complexities of black holes. You’ll apply these concepts to solve real-world challenges in technology, energy, and beyond, while gaining the analytical skills to innovate in any scientific field.
Computer Science and Computer Information Sciences
Are you ready to write the code of the future or train the next AI? Barry’s Computer Science and Computer Information Sciences programs put you at the forefront of technology, with the skills to design, innovate, and lead in the digital world.
Through our Computer Science (BS), you’ll dive into algorithms, AI, cybersecurity, and problem-solving strategies that are highly sought after by employers.
In Computer Information Sciences (BS) you’ll learn to bridge the gap between technology and business – designing and managing systems, analyzing critical data, and solving real-world challenges.
Plus, the most important part: you’ll learn to use AI ethically, because the world needs responsible innovators at the forefront of technology.
Mathematical Sciences
Analytical. Statistical. Problem-Solving. These are the skills you need to excel across a wide range of fields. Barry’s Mathematical Sciences program prepares you to tackle complex problems – not just equations – and turn data into actionable decisions.
