We look forward to a wonderful Spring 2021 Semester.
The guiding objectives in developing our roadmap for continuing on-campus life are promoting health and well-being and maintaining the individualized attention and values-based quality instruction that define a Barry education.
We have put in place what has been described as "layers of protection" to guard against the spread of COVID-19 within our university community. These layers include, in part, redesigning class and event sizes, reducing density on campus, requiring the use of face coverings, cleaning and disinfecting, symptom screening, and encouraging handwashing. While no combination of measures can fully prevent illness, together these layers are designed to promote a culture of safety.
The keyword for this academic year is flexibility. Our plans have built-in flexibility that will allow for in-person interaction, but also productive and inclusive remote participation in academic pursuits and campus life for those for whom in-person interaction is not possible, or in the event conditions change. As part of this flexibility, students can make the choice that is right for them about attending classes on campus or remaining remote. We will continue to be proactive and make timely adjustments to our plans as needed.
Our detailed Back to Barry Guide outlines our plans, and the many layers of protection we have built in as we reimagined in-person interaction at Barry.
