Student Organization American Medical Student Association (AMSA)

Purpose

The American Medical Student Association (AMSA) is a national organization of medical students and undergraduate pre-medical students. The pre-med chapter at Barry is concerned with helping students to prepare for medical school by:

  • Exposing them to different medical environments by participation in volunteer activities and contact with practicing physicians;
  • Engaging them in discussions about current topics in medicine;
  • Providing them with information about various medical programs and schools through presentations by invited speakers;
  • Guiding them through the admissions testing, application and interview process.

  • Walk Miami
  • Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) presentation
  • American Medial College Application Service (AMCAS) presentation
  • Special Olympics
  • Guest speakers from various medical and osteopathic schools and Kaplan Test Prep
