The Minority Association of Pre-Health Students (MAPS) is a multicultural pre-health organization. As a student group, MAPS serves as a pipeline and mentorship program to bridge gaps for underrepresented students who wish to enter medical school or other health-related fields. MAPS provides knowledge, skills and experience to students with aspirations of entering a health-related profession. While the primary focus of MAPS is preparation for medical school, participation in its professional development programs and community service, such as mock interviews and health fairs, can be equally beneficial to all. Established in the fall of 2011, MAPS has members from both undergraduate (biology, chemistry, nursing) and graduate (biomedical sciences) programs. Membership is open to all students who are interested in gaining clinical experience and insights into healthcare professions, regardless of their area of study.
