Next Steps for All Admitted Students

Step 1. Activate your BarryNet account

  • Watch for setup instructions sent to your personal email.
  • Activation gives you access to student email and the Student Web intranet.

Step 2. Review the Student Planning guide

Step 3. Register for classes

  • After you create your Barry email and login password; you can access Student Planning.
  • Your advisor will review your record; place suggested classes; and notify you by email when the review is complete.
  • You may then register or discuss changes with your advisor.
  • Important: Before registering you must update your Emergency Contact information in the portal.

Step 4. Pay tuition or confirm aid

  • Tuition must be paid in full by the published deadline for your term.
  • Starting Financial Aid early is encouraged if you will use aid.

Getting Started with Registration

How Student Planning works

  1. Create your Barry email and login password.
  2. Go to the Student Portal and open Student Planning: https://studentportal.barry.edu/
  3. Your advisor pulls your record; maps required courses; and adds suggested classes.
  4. You receive an email when your review is complete; then you can register or request changes.
  5. Update Emergency Contact details first; this is required to register.

  • Decide whether you will take one or two classes per seven week term.

Student Responsibility

It is each student’s responsibility to read and understand Barry University policies and procedures. Students should review:

Obligations

  • Ensure you have met all requirements for transfer of credits; degree completion; and graduation.
  • Track dates and deadlines for registration; add or drop; withdrawal; portfolio submission; and graduation application.
  • Advisors support and advise; however the final responsibility for enrolling in required courses; resolving transfer credit issues; meeting prerequisites; and submitting paperwork rests with the student.

Enrollment status

  • A student who does not enroll for more than one year is considered inactive and must apply for readmission by submitting a new application. University policies in effect at readmission will apply.
