With origins in web and graphic design, interaction design (IxD) evolved to an in-demand, unique, career skillsets. Interaction designer’s work expands far beyond typography, design, and imaging. Interaction designers create on-screen element that users swipe, click, tap, or type and plan, design and program user interaction elements for on-screen interfaces.
Target: Web, app, and web app creators, trainers, presenters, and content manager that may benefit from the skill to create self-contained, interactive electronic materials including training manuals, info-graphics, websites, e-magazines, web apps, and interactive presentations that include links, HTML5 animations, video, audio, and forms to collect user information.
Technology: PC or MAC computer, tablet device and or smartphone, Adobe Creative Cloud (Minimum of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop), word-processing software.
Course Path:
UX-UI Fundamentals course: Information visualization and imaging fundamentals; introduction to UX-UI design with emphasis on graphical interfaces. Students learn industry standard imaging software to create infographics and wireframes.
Interaction Design course: Element production and interaction integration; element creation and integration into HTML5 products with emphasis on use of interaction via links, animation, video and audio.
Digital Publishing Planning course: Production, and hosting of HTML5 web apps and interactive e-magazines; development of navigation, interaction, and elements culminating in interactive HTML5 web app and e-Zine.
