The Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology & Sport Sciences with a Fitness Specialization is designed to prepare students for dynamic careers in health, fitness, and human performance. This specialization combines exercise science, physiology, and behavioral theory to train professionals who promote physical activity and holistic well-being.
Coursework emphasizes fitness assessment, exercise prescription, health promotion and behavioral change, integrating classroom and hands-on laboratory experiences. This specialization allows students to partake in practicum and internship, allowing them to gain communication and leadership skills; thus, preparing them to work with diverse populations across clinical, corporate, and community settings.
Emphasis is placed on evidence-based practice, safety, ethics, and individualized program design. Graduates are prepared for certifications through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), as well as for careers or graduate study in exercise physiology, rehabilitation or allied health.
