Master of Social Work (MSW) Advanced Standing Program

Full-Time

Applicants that hold an undergraduate degree in social work from a Council on Social Work Education-accredited undergraduate social work program for which their degree was conferred within the past five years can complete their MSW in just 7 months (two full-time semesters). Students accepted into this highly competitive program will enroll in advanced clinical concentration and leadership courses.

Students are required to complete 580 hours of Professional and Clinical Practice training over the duration of enrollment. This translates into approximately 24 hours a week of social work internship. This program is not recommended for individuals that work full-time. Students will take approximately four courses each semester (Tues. & Thurs. 9:00AM - 5:00PM). Professional and Clinical Practice will be assigned for completion on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Part-Time

Completed in approximately 16 months, this program offers 32 credits of advanced social work courses. Students that hold an undergraduate degree in social work from a Council on Social Work Education-accredited undergraduate social work program for which their degree was conferred within the past five years are eligible to apply. Students accepted into this highly competitive program will enroll in advanced clinical concentration and leadership courses.

This program is designed for working professionals. Students will take two courses normally during evening hours. Students are required to complete 580 hours of Professional and Clinical Practice training over the duration of enrollment. This translates into approximately 10 hours a week of social work internship. Some agencies require that students be available during some regular business hours (M-F, 8-6) for trainings, meetings, and/or supervision. Students are required to attend field placement during regular business hours at least one day per week.
