Biography
Ann R. Lamet, PhD, APRN, is an Associate Professor of Nursing in the School of Nursing within the College of Health Professions and Medical Sciences at Barry University. A member of the Barry University faculty since 1986, she served in numerous academic and governance leadership roles, including Director of Health and Education Coordinator at the Fred Lippman Multi-Purpose Center in Hollywood Florida, and Chair of the Interfaith Committee.
Dr. Lamet holds a Ph.D. in Nursing from Barry University, a MS, ARNP in Science/ Nursing from State University of Stony Brook, a BSN from Hunter Bellevue, and a RN degree from Beth Israel School of Nursing. Her scholarship focuses on reactions of elderly survivors to terrorist events, as well as risk and resilience, and psychological distress among Holocaust and non-Holocaust survivors in the post 911 environment, with peer -reviewed publication, in the Journal of Multicultural Nursing and Health. She is also actively engaged in collaborative interdisciplinary mass casualty coordination.
In addition to her scholarly work, her area of interest with older adults, inclusive communities, and collaborative services, coincides with the mission of Barry University embracing diverse populations. Dr. Lamet is involved in numerous community organizations, including Chairperson of the Bikur Cholim of Miami Beach and South Florida, providing visitations and resources to those in need as well the Chevra Kadisha of South Florida, assisting with Jewish mortuary and burial services.
