Trauma Responsive Care With Children: Cultivating Courage, Connection, And Resiliency

Barry University School of Social Work is offering a three-hour virtual workshop that will introduce effective, trauma-informed practice strategies necessary for working with children and families affected by a range of risk factors, including interpersonal and intercommunity violence, developmental and historical trauma, poverty, alcohol, and substance abuse, natural and human-caused disasters, refugee and undocumented immigration status.

Highlighted will be the impact of the recent pandemic and social justice/racial issues, the application of Hope and Attachment Theory, and parents as collaborators to mitigate disenfranchised grief and loss.
