Community Engagement: CARE Center’s Participation in the Back 2 School Resource FairAugust 01, 2025
On Thursday, August 1st, the CARE Center joyfully participated in the Back 2 School Resource Fair hosted by Sant La Haitian Neighborhood Center in North Miami. This vibrant event, held from 2 PM to 5 PM, was a celebration of support for families and students gearing up for the upcoming school year, filled with excitement and positive energy.

The CHAMPS-CROP Program is dedicated to fostering mental, physical, and emotional awareness among youth. Our mission is to create a holistic environment that tailors activities to meet the unique needs of each participant. Through experiential field trips, we offer opportunities for hands-on learning and exploration that go beyond the classroom, allowing youth to connect with their surroundings and gain new perspectives.

CARE Center Research Initiative in collaboration with the City of Miami Beach Homeless Outreach CenterDecember 12, 2022
In December 2022, the CARE Center at Barry University completed a 5-month research project in a collaborative partnership with the City of Miami Beach Homeless Outreach Office.The Research initiative, under the leadership of Dr. Silvia Reyes (Director CARE Center) and Dr. Jill Farrell (Dean of Students ADSOE-LHD), involved students within the School Psychology and Clinical Mental Health Counseling program and the Director of School Psychology Program (Dr. Agnes Shine).
