Service-Learning

The Honors Program at Barry is designed to challenge, enrich, and prepare especially motivated students to pursue their fullest potential. By participating in a rigorous curriculum rounded out by an array of edifying and interactive events, students explore crucial issues that we face in our daily lives. Students are given the space for discussion and debate and the opportunity to learn from experts in their fields. The Office of Financial Aid can assist with determining eligibility for the Honors Program.

At Barry University, you will experience a small community atmosphere where you can always rely on our administrators and faculty for advice, encouragement and personal attention. We take great pride in giving individual attention from the very beginning. You can start building a personal relationship with one of our admissions counselors who will help answer any questions, and guide you through the entire admissions and enrollment process.

Continuing Education (CE) offers a variety of courses and non-credit programs designed to respond to the diverse educational interests and lifelong learning needs of individuals of all ages. We offer certificate, credential exam preparation, and licensure programs for professional and personal enrichment.

We are committed to providing programs and services that are guided by Barry University's rich educational mission and intended to enhance your Barry experience. Through partnerships with others in the university community, we aim to create experiences that will help transform you into leaders for a just and humane world.

We are an NCAA Division II school and a member of the Sunshine State Conference with 12 varsity teams, including men's baseball, basketball, golf, soccer and tennis; and women's basketball, golf, rowing, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball. So far, we've won 24 NCAA championships, had 338 All-Americans, 413 Scholar All-Americans, and nine NCAA "Women of the Year" finalists, the most of any Division II school. Not bad at all, but we're going for more.

Barry University Scholarships Free scholarship money available to fund your education! Welcome to the Fast and Easy Way to Apply for Barry University Scholarships!

Barry University offers scholarships that you can apply for every year. The scholarships are funded through contributions from private donors, alumni, faculty, staff, parents, campus organizations, and corporations.

With the Barry University Scholarship System, you can:

  • Answer as many questions as you like and be matched with your eligible external scholarship opportunities 
  • Be automatically considered for many of the scholarships available at Barry University
  • Do a keyword search for scholarships titles and review the criteria to see if your qualifications are a match

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Students who are enrolled at Barry University and have completed at least one semester. 

  • Barry employees, their relatives who currently receive 100% tuition assistance or tuition waivers are not eligible for Barry University scholarships, and students that are applying for the MBA online program.

  • The scholarship system opens twice a year—spring semester (January 15, 2023 - February 26, 2023) and fall semester (August – October)—for institutional scholarships. External scholarships are open year round. The vast majority of the institutional scholarships are awarded in the spring for disbursement in the fall. Deadline dates for individual scholarship applications may vary, so please refer to the Barry University Scholarship System for deadlines. You will continue to be notified through your myBarry email account, through the scholarship system, and through on-campus advertisements to complete the scholarship application.

  • Review available scholarships and apply to those whose criteria you meet
  • Make sure to answer all questions completely and complete all essays thoughtfully
  • Don't wait until the last minute
  • Go into the system regularly to see if there are new scholarships you may be eligible for
  • If a thank you note is requested, please be sure to submit in a timely manner as funds are not disbursed until these are received
  • Contact faculty for needed recommendations as early as possible
  • Refer to the specific scholarship deadline date in the Barry University Scholarship System

Barry University Scholarship Policies 

  • Enrollment Policy: To be eligible for a Barry University scholarship, you must be enrolled at the university.
  • Disbursement Policy: Scholarships are disbursed in the fall and spring semester following the selection of recipients and are directly credited to the recipients' Barry student accounts. Most annual awards up to $1,000 are credited for the full amount in the fall semester. Awards of $1,000 or more are divided equally between the fall and spring semesters. If a student does not attend a portion of the school year, undisbursed funds are returned to the scholarship fund for a future award.
  • Cancellation Policy: Barry University reserves the right to revoke a scholarship if the recipient is found to not meet the published criteria under which the recipient was initially selected.

How do I establish a scholarship or donate to an existing scholarship?
