About the Program
Barry University’s Pre-Law 3+3 Hybrid Program gives driven undergraduate students a faster, more immersive path to a legal career. This innovative, collaborative approach between the College of Arts & Sciences and the School of Law allows students to complete both their bachelor’s degree and JD in just six years.
With undergraduate courses across Philosophy, Political Science, History, Economics, Business, and English, students will learn to:
- Recognize fallacious reasoning.
- Analyze U.S. constitutional foundations and government structure.
- Understand historical/social/economic/cultural factors shaping U.S. society.
- Demonstrate quantitative and economic analysis skills.
- Produce a major research paper on social justice.

Simple. This program gives you early access to law school and a clear path forward. In your third year, you’ll take the LSAT and submit your application for admission to the Law School. After successful admission to the Law School, you’ll begin taking your first-year law classes as your fourth year of undergraduate study. The first-year law classes will fulfill the final 30 credits required for the bachelor’s degree.

Barry’s Pre-Law 3+3 Hybrid Program streamlines your path to a JD by merging undergraduate coursework with early experiences on the Orlando law school campus. During your first three years, you’ll complete your general education and Pre-law major requirements. Many of your undergraduate classes will be online but you will take one class each semester on the Law School campus in Orlando. Other early enrichment activities include opportunities for mentoring from law school faculty and students, completing related internships, and immersion in on-campus events.
After successful admission to the Law School at the end of your third year, you’ll begin taking
first year law school classes in your fourth year.
After successfully completing your fourth year, your bachelor’s degree will be awarded. You’ll then continue as a full-time law student in years five and six. Through advanced coursework, clinics, and hands-on legal experiences, you’ll build the knowledge and practical skills needed to graduate ready for legal career.
Admissions Criteria
- Weighted High School GPA of 3.5 (as calculated by Barry University Office of
Undergraduate Admissions)
Program Requirements
- Maintain a 3.2 cumulative GPA and 3.5 GPA in all undergraduate major area course work.
- Complete the LSAT no later than the February administration during the student’s junior
(third) year. - Minimum LSAT score of 152 or as otherwise established-by Barry University Law School
- Apply for admission to Barry University Law School by March 1st of the student’s junior
year. - Submit to Barry University Law School a letter from the History and Political Science
Department Chair and Associate Dean for Graduate Programs, College of Arts and
Sciences certifying satisfactory progress toward completion of all undergraduate
program requirements. - Meet Barry Law School requirement for moral fitness and character.
