The Honors Program at Barry is designed to challenge, enrich, and prepare especially motivated students to pursue their fullest potential. By participating in a rigorous curriculum rounded out by an array of edifying and interactive events, students explore crucial issues that we face in our daily lives. Students are given the space for discussion and debate and the opportunity to learn from experts in their fields. The Office of Financial Aid can assist with determining eligibility for the Honors Program.

The Monsignor William Barry Memorial Library is located in the center of the beautiful Miami Shores campus of Barry University. The Library is named in loving memory of Monsignor William Barry, one of the founders of Barry University and an inspirational figure in the Catholic Church within the Archdiocese of Miami. The extensive Library research collections include more than 950,000 physical items, over 40,000 print and on-line journal subscriptions, and several thousand on-line books and streaming video resources.

At Barry University, you will experience a small community atmosphere where you can always rely on our administrators and faculty for advice, encouragement and personal attention. We take great pride in giving individual attention from the very beginning. Distance Education

We are committed to providing programs and services that are guided by Barry University's rich educational mission and intended to enhance your Barry experience. Through partnerships with others in the university community, we aim to create experiences that will help transform you into leaders for a just and humane world.

We are an NCAA Division II school and a member of the Sunshine State Conference with 12 varsity teams, including men's baseball, basketball, golf, soccer and tennis; and women's basketball, golf, rowing, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball. So far, we've won 24 NCAA championships, had 338 All-Americans, 413 Scholar All-Americans, and nine NCAA "Women of the Year" finalists, the most of any Division II school. Not bad at all, but we're going for more.

NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY OF INSTITUTIONAL AND FINANCIAL AID INFORMATION

Barry University School of Law must annually distribute to all enrolled and prospective students a notice of the availability of the information that is required to be made available to students under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA) and under the Higher Education Act (HEA) Sec. 485(a), Sec. 485(c), 485(f), Sec. 485(g), 485(h), and Sec. 485(j).

Financial Assistance Information (Including Cost of Attendance)

Barry University School of Law is an eligible post-secondary institution under the Higher Education Act of 1965. As such it participates in all of the Title IV Federal Student Aid Programs available to graduate students including the Federal Direct Loan Program (the Direct Student Loan and the Direct Graduate PLUS Loan).

Method and Frequency of Financial Aid Disbursement

All credit balances generated by financial aid will be automatically issued and available for pick up (with photo ID) in the Office of Student Financial Services. To simplify the disbursement of funds, direct deposit is available and recommended.

Refunds are disbursed within 14 calendar days from when the credit balance has been created or 14 calendar days from the start of the term, whichever is later.

Financial Aid Staff Contact Information: The Office of Student Financial Services maintains an open-door policy ensuring that students enjoy the counseling and guidance needed to make the law school loan process as smooth as possible.

Academic Degree Program Information: Barry University School of Law offers the Juris Doctor (JD) degree. All students in the program must complete 90 semester-hours of study in areas that are essential to the understanding and practice of law.

General Accreditation: Barry University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

Barry University School of Law is approved by the Veteran's Administration.

Refund Policy Policies and Sanctions (Includes Computer Use Policy, Institutional Refund Policy and Return of Title IV Funds Policy)

Computer Use Policy: Computing facilities at the Law School are provided for the use of registered students, faculty and staff. The Law School views the use of computer facilities as a privilege, not a right. The following conditions apply to all users of Barry University School of Law computers and information systems. Violations of any of the conditions are considered unethical and may be unlawful. Suspected violations will be confidentially reported to the appropriate law school authorities and may result in loss of computer privileges or further sanctions. Institutional Refund Policy: Students who withdraw from classes will receive a tuition refund based on the current year’s schedules as found in the Student Handbook.

Return of Title IV Funds Policy: If a student withdraws from all courses or stops attending classes before completing 60% of the enrollment period, a portion of the total federal aid received may need to be repaid.
