Food Security Day

Most U.S. households have consistent, dependable access to enough food for active, healthy living—they are food secure. But some households experience food insecurity at times during the year, which means that their access to adequate food is limited by a lack of money and other resources. A service project on Food Security Day draws attention to the issue and highlights a potential solution.

Founders' Day of Service

To kick off Founders’ Week, a day of service is on the annual community engagement calendar. Faculty, staff, students, and alumni take part in collaborative service projects.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service

The MLK Day of Service empowers individuals, strengthens communities, bridges barriers, creates solutions to social problems, and moves us closer to Dr. King’s vision of a “beloved community.” The Day provides a special opportunity for Barry students to support the advancement of the University’s commitment to social justice through collaborative service in disadvantaged communities.
