If you are interested in becoming one with nature, consider exploring the various natural resources within a short distance of our beautiful campus. South Florida is home to a unique tropical ecosystem that includes world famous beaches, the unique everglades, and a variety of waterways and parks where visitors can walk, bike, paddle, picnic and more. Each semester, students can participate in free eco-adventure trips.

Getting involved with a local non-profit organization is a great way to support the environment. Barry University has various community partnerships that students can volunteer with through the Center for Community Service Initiatives.

Our community extends beyond our initial target population of residents in the City of Miami's District 5. Our programs are meant to be replicable and cost-effective, so we've had the opportunity to consult or work on projects through-out Miami-Dade County, south Florida, Central Florida (Pahokee, Clewiston), Michigan (Detroit & Flint), Haiti, Costa Rica, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and . Our community makes us stronger with each bridge we build, and those bridges start right here in Miami.
Citizens for a Better South Florida is dedicated to providing environmental education, particularly to the underserved community, which inspires active stewardship and the preservation of the South Florida environment.
Our Hub engages with the greater Miami community by undertaking projects that break silos, fuel social entrepreneurship, empower youth, and support the SDGs.
Stop organic waste from reaching landfills by providing an easy way to do compost without the physical work. Food scraps do not belong in landfills but gardens. By diverting food scraps from landfills, we stop the creation of methane, which is 25 times stronger than carbon dioxide
