Student Fund Manager Sectors: Fixed Income
My name is Terina Garcia. I was born in Cuba but spent my childhood in Maputo, Mozambique where I completed the IGCSE program of study at Maputo International School. This spring will be my last semester completing an undergraduate degree in Accounting at Barry University's Andreas School of Business. Initially, my interest in financial markets and securities inspired me to declare a major in Finance. However, my curiosity for derivative securities and my desire to understand their complexity compelled me to change to a major in Accounting with the goal of acquiring knowledge of accounting for derivatives and the strategic use of those securities by the different market entities. I joined SMIF because I deem it to be the ideal setting where I can obtain active experience to deal with real-life market risk, and cultivate the practical insights to better assess the potential outcomes of market events.
