Year of Service
Have you ever thought of a year of service? Spend a year (or two!) serving others in need across the country or around the world. You can also gain valuable life experience, job training and earn money to pay off your student loans. Join millions of young graduates in programs like Teach for America, AmeriCorps and the Peace Corps.
Jesuit Volunteer Corps: Offers women and men an opportunity to work full-time for justice and peace. Volunteers are called to the mission of serving the poor directly, working for structural change in the United States, and accompanying people in developing countries. Live in community with other JVC volunteers; room, board, health insurance and a monthly stipend provided.
Catholic Volunteer Network: A national membership organization of Christian volunteer and mission programs that fosters and promotes full-time national and international service opportunities for people of all backgrounds, ages and skills.
AmeriCorps: Serve one year domestically to help alleviate poverty. Modest living allowance, health insurance and education award provided.
Peace Corps: Serve internationally for two years. Room, board, health insurance and a monthly stipend provided.
Teach For America: Volunteer to teach in a high-need public school for two years. Salary and health insurance provided, as well as education award upon completion of service.
