Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. owns the certification marks CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and federally registered CFP (with flame design) in the U.S., which it awards to individuals who successfully complete initial and ongoing certification requirements.

CFP Certification

Barry University is registered with Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. (CFP Board) to provide the educational requirements for financial professionals to obtain the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Certification. This program provides the participants with a broad knowledge in financial planning and satisfies the educational requirements to sit for the CFP® Certification Examination.

Requirements for THE CFP® Certification

Students who successfully complete the program will have met the prerequisite education requirements that allow them to apply for the CFP® certification exam. In addition to this requirement, passing the CFP® Certification Examination plus fulfilling experience, undergraduate degree, and ethics requirements can lead to certification by the CFP Board, granting the individual the right to use the CFP®, Certified Financial Planner™ and CFP (with flame design) ® certification marks.

For more information regarding CFP Board policies and procedures, students should contact CFP Board at 800-487-1497. Please note that each student must submit their own application by the set deadline to sit for the CFP exam.

Cost

  • In Person Program Registration cost: $5,300
    (does not include books and materials)
  • Online Program Registration cost: $850.00 per course for 1st 6 courses and $1,050.00 for 7th course, the Capstone.
    (includes e-books with course purchase)

Tuition for each course must be fully paid at the time of registration.

Traditional college credit is not granted for most CE courses; however, a Certificate of Completion is awarded.

To receive your Certificate of Completion, full participation is expected. Participants must be present at each course and be in attendance through the specified time frame in order to receive the Certificate of Completion at end of the course.

Cancellations

A request to cancel or withdraw from the course must be made in writing no later than seven days after the course start date.

If we are asked to bill a company and the registrant does not attend, the company will be billed unless the registration is cancelled in advance.

Barry University reserves the right to cancel any class because of insufficient registration.
