The Adrian Dominican Institute for Mission, Teaching, and Learning animates Barry University’s Catholic, Dominican mission across the life of the institution. Grounded in the Core Commitments—knowledge and truth, inclusive community, social justice, and collaborative service—the Institute brings together mission, teaching, and learning to support educational excellence rooted in purpose.
Through collaboration across disciplines and divisions, the Institute integrates the Dominican charism and evidence-informed teaching and learning practices into Barry’s culture, operations, and educational life. We support faculty and staff development, advance the scholarship of teaching and learning, and cultivate shared responsibility for stewarding Barry’s identity as a Catholic, Dominican university founded and sponsored by the Dominican Sisters of Adrian, Michigan.
