Institute for Immigration Studies

For more than 80 years, the mission and values of the Adrian Dominican sisters serve as the foundation of the core commitments of Barry University: Knowledge and Truth, Inclusive Community, Social Justice and Collaborative Service. The Institute for Immigration Studies is an extension of this mission.

The Institute for Immigration Studies aims to:

  • Promote education and understanding of the South Florida immigrant experience.
  • Preserve the stories, artifacts, and traditions associated with the immigrant experience in South Florida.
  • Provide opportunities for interdisciplinary research, scholarship and creative activity surrounding the immigration experience in South Florida.
