Biography

Dr. Luis A. Rodriguez Anaya, DPM, is an accomplished podiatric surgeon with a focus on foot and ankle surgery and sports medicine. Currently serving as the Assistant Professor and Interim Clinical Education Director at Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine, Dr. Rodriguez Anaya is dedicated to educating the next generation of podiatric professionals. His academic journey began at Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine, where he graduated in the Class of 2011.

Dr. Rodriguez Anaya completed his Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency with Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery (PMSR/RRA) at Mercy Hospital/Barry University. His commitment to advancing his skills and knowledge led him to pursue specialized training in sports medicine through fellowships at prestigious institutions, including the National Basketball Association's Miami Heat, University of Miami, Barry University, and the Boulder Center for Sport Medicine in Colorado.

As a respected member of the podiatric community, Dr. Rodriguez Anaya holds professional memberships with the American Podiatric Medical Association and the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. His hospital affiliations include Mercy Hospital, a Campus of Plantation General Hospital in Miami, Florida, where he contributes to providing comprehensive foot and ankle care.

Dr. Rodriguez Anaya actively participates in academic and professional committees, notably serving on the Handbook Committee at Barry University since 2015. His commitment to research is evident through his contributions to publications in renowned journals such as The Podiatry Institute Update and the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association.

Noteworthy among his scientific presentations is his talk on "Spina Bifida: A Twenty Year Struggle with Osteomyelitis" at the Science & Management Symposium organized by the Florida Podiatric Medical Association. Dr. Rodriguez Anaya has also shared his expertise in various scientific poster presentations, including a kinematic analysis of tibial position related to peak plantar pressure inside the Total Contact Cast System at the National Biomechanical Meeting.

In addition to his academic and research pursuits, Dr. Rodriguez Anaya remains actively engaged in professional activities. Since 2015, he has served as the Team Podiatric Physician for the Barry University Athletic Program, contributing his expertise to support the health and well-being of athletes.
