Professor Tania Williams has built her career around trial advocacy, strategic decision-making, and the development of lawyers. Her litigation practice has spanned both the public and private sectors, representing individuals, small businesses, financial institutions, and Fortune 500 companies in matters involving criminal prosecution, negligence,

employer liability, insurance, and first-party property claims. She began her career as an Assistant State Attorney in Florida’s Ninth Judicial Circuit, where she developed extensive courtroom experience conducting jury and bench trials. She later practiced at national and regional law firms, serving as trial and appellate counsel and advising litigation teams on complex legal issues, appellate strategy, and preservation of error.

Professor Williams returned to public service as Director of Merit Retention, Recruitment and Training for the Broward State Attorney’s Office, where she developed and implemented attorney recruitment and professional development initiatives and trained prosecutors on effective, ethical, and well-prepared advocacy.

Legal education and lawyer development have become a central focus of Professor Williams’s work. Before joining the Barry University School of Law faculty, she taught legal analysis as a Critical Skills Instructor at Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law. She is also the Founder and Chief Trial Strategist of The Skilled Advocate Company, where she helps attorneys develop strategic clarity through disciplined case preparation and strengthens lawyers’ strategic thinking, advocacy skills, and self-trust.

Across her work as a trial lawyer, educator, and strategist, Professor Williams focuses on helping lawyers think more clearly, prepare more strategically, and become more effective advocates.
