Barry University's CHAMPS-CROP Program, housed within the CARE Center, is a comprehensive youth development and college readiness program serving middle and high school participants in Miami-Dade County. CHAMPS-CROP combines two grant-funded initiatives into one coordinated program:
C.H.A.M.P.S. (Community of Healthy, Active, Motivated, Positive Students) is funded by The Children's Trust and supports youth development through a comprehensive focus on academic achievement, social-emotional development, healthy lifestyles, leadership, and positive youth development. Through engaging and supportive experiences, C.H.A.M.P.S. helps participants build the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to succeed academically, personally, and within their communities.
