Award Recipient: Bathsheba Auguste
Bathsheba Auguste was named the recipient of the Outstanding Student Inclusive Community Award - Undergraduate in recognition of her exceptional academic achievement, leadership, research contributions, and sustained commitment to fostering connection, belonging, and student well-being within the Barry University community.
A Psychology major specializing in Child and Adolescent Development, Bathsheba maintains an outstanding 4.0 GPA while excelling in research, clinical training, student leadership, and community service. Her academic excellence is matched by a deep commitment to supporting others and creating opportunities for learning, engagement, and personal growth.
Bathsheba demonstrated remarkable professional achievement as the first undergraduate clinical intern at PsychED Solutions, P.A., where she assisted with psychological assessments, mental status examinations, client intake, clinical documentation, and case reviews. Through this work, she brought professionalism, compassion, and cultural awareness to supporting individuals and families with diverse experiences and needs.
Her dedication to research has also been exceptional. Following her presentation at the Duke Center for Global Mental Health Conference, Bathsheba was invited to join the GEMINI Research Center, where she became actively involved in interdisciplinary projects addressing global mental health challenges. She has contributed to multiple scholarly manuscripts examining topics including alcohol use, depression, and health equity-related outcomes, demonstrating a commitment to advancing knowledge that supports community well-being.
Bathsheba’s leadership on campus has been equally impactful. As a Student Government Association Senator, she represented several campus areas, including Counseling and Psychological Services and Athletics, helping to advocate for student well-being, expand access to resources, and secure funding for recreation initiatives that benefit the wider student body. Through these efforts, she fostered collaboration and strengthened connections across diverse student communities.
During her Junior year, Bathsheba spent her Spring Break with the Miami Center for Racial Justice, participating in a Teach the Truth Tour. She participated in powerful community-led restorative processes while learning about the history of racial violence in Florida and the wider United States.
As Co-Founder and President of the Psychology Club, Bathsheba promoted mental health awareness, facilitated educational programs, and collaborated with organizations such as the Jordan Porco Foundation and Barry’s Brides Walk initiative. She also served as Chair of Community Service for the Stamps Scholars Program, coordinating initiatives such as the annual Stamps Day of Service, and as an Honors Program Peer Mentor, supporting students as they navigated academic and campus life.
Known for her compassion, professionalism, and servant leadership, Bathsheba consistently creates opportunities for others to learn, connect, and thrive.
