Barry University senior Victoria Pryor will start 2023 on a career and academic high. The Clinical Laboratory Sciences major has been awarded the Baptist Health Allied Health Scholarship in Medical Laboratory Sciences, a clinical apprenticeship and tuition program through Baptist Health South Florida. “The program is a scholarship where I am a student and an employee,” says Victoria. “I will receive educational funding in exchange for doing clinical rotations, and once I get my license, I will automatically have a job. I am an official employee January 1, 2023. The program lasts until the first week of June.”
As part of her Clinical Laboratory Sciences degree, Victoria is working toward her Specialization in Medical Technology. She is on track to graduate in May and will continue pursuing her Master of Science in Lab Management through Barry’s unique BS to MS Laboratory Sciences program. She credits her Barry educational experience with preparing her to meet the clinical demands of the Baptist Allied Health Scholarship. “I know that my education here was what helped me get chosen,” she says.
