The Student Organization Council (SOC) is where ideas turn into action creating a campus where students know they belong. As the governing and support body for all Registered Student Organizations (RSO) at Barry University, SOC exists to champion student voices, strengthen leadership, and contribute to our connected campus community.

Whether you’re dreaming up a brand-new club, leading an established organization, or searching for ways to get involved, SOC is here to guide and empower you at every stage. We provide the resources and advocacy student leaders need so they can focus on what matters most: exploring passions and building a community that leaves a legacy.

Prospective Members

  • A minimum of 6 office hours per week

    • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
    • Must be in good academic and conduct standing
    • Must not be on university probation
    • Must be a full-time student (12 or more credit hours per semester)
    • Develop strong leadership and social skills
    • Enhance your resume
    • Networking and connecting with staff, alumni, business owners and more!
    • Gain experience in event planning, marketing, implementation, and assessment
