FAQs

  • The PMP® Certification is recommended for experienced project managers. If you hold a four-year degree, you must have three years of experience leading projects, plus 35 hours of project-management education to earn your certification. If you do not hold a four-year degree, you must have a high-school diploma or associate degree (or global equivalent), five years of experience leading projects, and 35 hours of project-management education to earn your certification. In both cases, Barry University’s PMP® Certification course fulfills the 35-hour education requirement.

  • The total cost of the course is $1700 and includes nine weeks of structured instruction by an expert in the project management field, printed course materials, online study aids and practice exams, and 24/7 access to all online materials for a full year.

  • The course curriculum and study resources emphasize the three primary domains covered on the PMP® exam: People (42%), Process (50%), and Business Environment (8%). The nine-week course is fully online, meaning you may complete assignments around your schedule as long as you meet deadlines established by your instructor. Throughout the course, your instructor will lead you through a five-module curriculum that dives deep into the knowledge and skillset prioritized by both the PMP® exam and today’s employers. Accompanying study aids, quizzes, and interactive discussions will help you practice and reinforce concepts. Upon completing the nine-week course, you may still access all online resources for a full year.

  • Our partnership blends expertise in testing with real-world project management experience and proven instruction methods. CertWise® is a leader in creating exam-prep materials that get results. Barry University is proud to leverage CertWise® materials and study methods while empowering our faculty to infuse each lesson with relevant supplemental resources as well as practical knowledge gained through real-world experience in the field.

  • Completing Barry University’s PMP® Certification course fulfills the 35-hour education prerequisite. As long as you meet the remaining requirements, you may apply to sit for the PMP® exam upon completing the course. Once your application is approved, you have a year to pass the exam. You may test three times in a single year.

  • Unless paper testing is pre-arranged, the exam is a computer-based format administered in English by Pearson VUE testing centers. 200 multiple-choice questions (175 scored) cover the three critical domains: People, Process, and Business Environment. You will receive a printed copy of your results (pass/fail status) immediately upon completing the exam.
