Biography

Clara Stroude-Vazquez is an Adjunct Faculty member in Sport Management at Barry University and a 20-plus-year veteran of the Miami HEAT, where she currently serves as Chief of Culture and Inclusion. In that role, she leads the HEAT’s diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy and serves as the steward of “HEAT Culture,” developing programs that shape how employees understand and live out the franchise’s values.

A native of Grenada, Stroude-Vazquez earned her undergraduate degree at East Carolina University before coming to Barry for her master’s degree in Sport Management. She joined the Miami HEAT as an intern in 2003, the same season the franchise drafted Dwyane Wade, and was part of the HEAT’s first NBA championship team in 2006. She also serves as chapter president of WISE (Women in Sports and Events) South Florida.
