Patrick Walsh is an Assistant Professor of Law at Barry University’s Dwayne O. Andreas

School of Law, where he teaches Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, White Collar Crime,

and Evidence. He brings to the classroom more than two decades of experience as a

prosecutor, military attorney, and legal educator.

Professor Walsh earned his B.A. in Political Science from Loyola Marymount University and

his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. He holds LL.M. degrees

from the University of Virginia School of Law and the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s

Legal Center and School, as well as a Master of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War

College.

Prior to joining Barry Law, Professor Walsh served as an Associate Professor of National

Security Law at the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School, where he

taught in the Army’s ABA-approved LL.M. program for military attorneys. He has also served

as an adjunct professor at the Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School and at

the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Professor Walsh’s legal experience extends well beyond academia. He served as a legal

instructor at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, where he taught criminal law to

aspiring federal agents. He also served for more than a decade as an Assistant United

States Attorney in the District of Nevada, where he was the district’s lead prosecutor for

national security and terrorism matters. Earlier in his career, he served as a Deputy

Prosecuting Attorney in King County, Washington, and as an associate at a large law firm.

Professor Walsh has served for more than twenty years as a U.S. Army Judge Advocate. He

currently serves in the Army Reserve as the Military Assistant to the U.S. Army General

Counsel. He is a member of the California and Washington State Bar Associations.
