The Honors Program at Barry is designed to challenge, enrich, and prepare especially motivated students to pursue their fullest potential. By participating in a rigorous curriculum rounded out by an array of edifying and interactive events, students explore crucial issues that we face in our daily lives. Students are given the space for discussion and debate and the opportunity to learn from experts in their fields. The Office of Financial Aid can assist with determining eligibility for the Honors Program.

The Monsignor William Barry Memorial Library is located in the center of the beautiful Miami Shores campus of Barry University. The Library is named in loving memory of Monsignor William Barry, one of the founders of Barry University and an inspirational figure in the Catholic Church within the Archdiocese of Miami. The extensive Library research collections include more than 950,000 physical items, over 40,000 print and on-line journal subscriptions, and several thousand on-line books and streaming video resources.

At Barry University, you will experience a small community atmosphere where you can always rely on our administrators and faculty for advice, encouragement and personal attention. We take great pride in giving individual attention from the very beginning. Continuing Education (CE) offers a variety of courses and non-credit programs designed to respond to the diverse educational interests and lifelong learning needs of individuals of all ages. We offer certificate, credential exam preparation, and licensure programs for professional and personal enrichment.

We are an NCAA Division II school and a member of the Sunshine State Conference with 12 varsity teams, including men's baseball, basketball, golf, soccer and tennis; and women's basketball, golf, rowing, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball. So far, we've won 24 NCAA championships, had 338 All-Americans, 413 Scholar All-Americans, and nine NCAA "Women of the Year" finalists, the most of any Division II school. Not bad at all, but we're going for more.

The Career Pathway gives students a clear four-year roadmap from exploration to career or graduate school launch. Faculty and staff play a key role by connecting programs, events, and learning experiences to career readiness milestones.

By adding eligible events in Engage, you help students:

  • Build career-ready skills across all four years 
  • Connect academic learning to real-world opportunities 
  • Gain credit for meaningful co-curricular experiences 
  • Stay engaged, prepared, and confident about life after graduation

The pathway bridges classroom learning with experiential and global opportunities while supporting student engagement, retention, and post-graduation success. Most importantly, it helps prepare students to thrive in an evolving professional world at the local, national, and global level.

How to Add Your Event in Engage

Add your programs and events in just a few simple steps to ensure students receive Career Pathway credit. Engage helps streamline participation tracking, supports assessment efforts, aligns programs with university career outcomes, and eliminates the need for manual attendance reporting.

  • Search for your department under the Organizations tab. If you need a page, request one HERE and assign page managers.

  • Confirm the room, date, time, and location before posting your event.

  • From you organization page, select create events and add the event title, date, time, location, description, and image.

  • Select at least one Career Pathway category that best aligns with your event. Proper tagging ensures students receive accurate milestone credit and helps maintain meaningful reporting and assessment data.

    Career Pathway Categories 

    A)  Networking

    Select this category if the event intentionally connects students with professionals or alumni to build relationships and expand professional networks.

    Examples include:

    • Employer or alumni networking events 
    • Industry panels with structured interaction 
    • Career mixers with external professionals

    B)  Skill-Building Workshop

    Select this category if the event teaches or develops transferable career skills students can apply across industries.

    Examples include:

    • Resume or cover letter workshops
    • Interview preparation sessions
    • LinkedIn or professional branding workshops
    • Career-relevant technical or professional skill training

    C)  Career Fair / Graduate School Fair

    Select this category if the event focuses on recruitment or next-step opportunities related to employment, internships, or graduate/professional school.

    Examples include:

    • Career fairs 
    • Internship fairs 
    • Graduate or professional school fairs 
    • Employer recruitment events

    *Important: Only tag events that are clearly connected to career readiness. Incorrect tagging may result in inaccurate student credit, weakened learning outcomes, and reporting challenges. Events without a tag will not count toward student milestones. 

  • Use the Campus Labs Event Check In to scan each student’s Event Pass.

  • Once students are checked in, attendance is recorded and Career Pathway milestones update automatically. No follow up is needed.
