On Friday, April 4, 2025, Barry University hosted a heartwarming Community Shabbat Dinner in the Landon Event Room, welcoming students, faculty, and guests including the inspiring Israeli Wheelchair Basketball Team, for an evening of connection, culture, and celebration. The gathering offered attendees an opportunity to engage with Jewish cultural and spiritual practices.
Guests participated in candle lighting and blessings and shared a home-style meal featuring traditional Shabbat foods. The evening emphasized themes of accessibility, perseverance, and community, as attendees listened to the team’s inspiring stories and reflected on the power of resilience and human connection. Whether new to Shabbat or familiar with the tradition, participants left with a renewed appreciation for cultural exchange, spiritual renewal, and inclusive community building.
