Barry University’s School of Mental Health and Social Work proudly congratulates Dr. Sarah Ingram-Herring, MSW Program Director, on being named the NASW–Florida Palm Beach Unit Social Work Educator of the Year. This distinguished recognition honors social work educators who demonstrate excellence in teaching, mentorship, and professional leadership while preparing the next generation of social workers to serve communities with compassion, integrity, and skill.

Selected for her dedication to student development and commitment to advancing the profession, Dr. Ingram-Herring exemplifies the values celebrated during Social Work Month and its 2026 theme, “Social Work: Uplift. Defend. Transform.” Through her leadership in the classroom and mentorship of students, she helps prepare future social workers to uplift individuals and communities, defend human dignity and social justice, and transform systems to promote equity and well-being.

Her recognition reflects not only her individual contributions but also Barry University’s longstanding commitment to educating social workers who lead with knowledge, service, and a deep commitment to the common good.  Dr. Ingram-Herring will be receiving her award on March 24, 2026 from NASW-FL Palm Beach Unit.
