Florida State Representative and Barry Professor of Social Work Mitch Rosenwald speaks in the Government Operations Subcommittee during the 2025 Legislative Session.

Dr. Rosenwald was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2024.  As a social worker, he works to advance the health and welfare of approximately 180,000 constituents in Broward County, Florida.  For the upcoming term, Rosenwald's legislative priorities include housing affordability, homeless prevention, and civil rights protection for Floridians.

He brings his experience to the classroom at Barry where he teaches social welfare policy and advocacy to MSW and DSW students. Dr. Rosenwald encourages his students to see the link between clinical practice and policy as policy improvements can improve the physical and mental health of clients and their families.
