Yilian Fraga obtained her undergraduate degree at Florida International University in Psychology in 1998 and earned a Master’s degree in Social Work from Barry University in 2000. Her professional endeavors throughout the last 15 years have been in the fields of Social Services, Child Welfare and Healthcare. She has experience working with a diversity of ethnic populations as well as age groups. These include the Hispanic and Haitian communities, adults, the elderly and adolescents. Ms. Fraga has been involved in developing and executing public awareness/advocacy campaigns regarding organ donation which included collaborative efforts with the Health Resources and Services Administration, the Agency for Healthcare Administration as well as other state/national coalitions and councils. She has also participated in conducting research via federal, state and private grants. With over eight years’ experience as a hiring manager, she has participated in initiatives to improve organizational structure/systemic processes. In addition, she has created numerous trainings to ensure optimal performance of service providers in accordance with accrediting agencies. Prior to joining Barry University as an Associate Director of Field Education, she worked with families in crisis and provided bereavement services.
