Completing the one-year Master's in Biomedical Sciences at Barry University has been one of the most rewarding decisions I have made on my path to becoming a physician. Not only did the curriculum provide a solid foundation of knowledge that helped prepare me for medical school, but the rigor of the one-year track also helped in establishing the good study habits that are needed to succeed. The benefits extended far beyond the classroom, however. From teachers who are invested in your success as a person and future medical professional, to the camaraderie formed with fellow highly motivated classmates, Barry University helps you to develop as an individual. Additionally, it is through networking opportunities provided by Barry University that I was able to meet admissions counselors and subsequently obtain an interview that led to an acceptance at my top-choice medical school. For those who are driven and eager to put in the hard work, Barry's Masters in Biomedical Science will put you in a position to excel.

If you find a path with no obstacles, it probably doesn't lead anywhere.” This quote by Frank A. Clark describes the adversity I experienced throughout my journey to dental school. I was told as an undergraduate that I would not be accepted into dental school based on my grades. My lack of confidence only fueled my fear of rejection and so I did not apply. The Barry University Master’s in Biomedical Sciences program serves to strengthen a student’s application for health professional schools. Thankfully, they saw my potential and desire to become a dentist. The intense graduate program is challenging, but it has enhanced my study and communication skills. I was surrounded daily by goal-oriented students and supportive professors. Even though my grades and knowledge is constantly improving, my confidence level has also heightened. I took advantage of my “second chance” to excel and showed dental school admissions and myself that I can succeed in school. My hard work paid off as I was accepted into my dream school, Tufts University School of Dental Medicine as a grateful member of the Class of 2020. Thank you Barry BMS.

Words cannot express how thankful I am for Barry’s Biomedical Sciences Program. The graduate courses not only prepared me for the rigors of PA school, but the faculty and staff supported and assisted me throughout the entire application process. This program is a large reason for my acceptance and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to attend professional school. It gave me an excellent science foundation, contributed to my successes in my current classes, and also gave me lifelong friends in the process.

Choosing to attend Barry University’s BMS program was the best decision I have ever made. Not only did it help me get into dental school but it gave me the confidence and experience I needed to be successful. Before entering the program, I had little confidence in my academic abilities but later realized I just never understood how to study properly. The BMS faculty and students tutored me on how to study more efficiently and effectively. I can now say after completing my first semester in dental school that the people at the BMS program go above and beyond to make sure their students are ready to take on the challenge of professional school.
