On Saturday, April 19, 2014 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm learn from Dr. Regina Moro, PhD, LCAS-A, NCC, about screening and brief counseling interventions that can be used by many different types of counselors.
- learn about the spectrum of addiction, form experimentation to chronic dependence.
- gain information about brief counseling interventions, including an introduction of two different frameworks.
- learn about screening and brief counseling interventions to use in a variety of counseling settings.
Registration starts at 8:30 am with a light breakfast. The workshop is from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm with a lunch break between 12 and 1 pm. 5 CE's will be provided at no additional cost.
About the presenter: Regina Moro is an Assistant Professor of Counseling at Barry University. She is a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate (LCAS-A) in North Carolina. Dr. Regina Moro will be discussing brief counseling interventions and their use in a variety of counseling settings. Dr. Moro will begin by describing her clinical work counseling hospitalized trauma patients in a level 1 medical trauma unit. Regina embraces a time-limited brief counseling approach, meeting with clients for one session.
