Each team is comprised of three ALS providers (one of whom must be a paramedic) who must function in a prehospital setting.

The BLS Division is made up of teams of first responders and EMTs who function in the EMS environment; paramedics, RNs and physicians are not eligible to compete. Each team is comprised of three first responders and EMTs who must function in a prehospital setting.

The Paramedic Student Division is made up of teams that must be comprised of students actively enrolled in a paramedic education program. Each team is comprised of three paramedic students; licensed paramedics, RNs and physicians are not eligible to compete.
