Kendall Hovius is racking up the accolades. So much so that she made the front of her local newspaper, the Tabernacle Sun.

Hovius will join Barry University next year, as one of six incoming Barry Stamps Scholars.

The exclusive scholarship covers the entire cost of attendance annually for four years/eight semesters and provides an additional $6,000 for enrichment activities. Hovius plans to study abroad with her enrichment funds.

The future Buccaneer has won a Gold Award with the Girl Scouts, volunteers with Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge, and attends Marine Academy of Science and Technology in Highland. She plans to pursue Marine Biology and study coral reefs at Barry.

Hovius secured full-ride offers at three other schools, but chose Barry University. To celebrate, when her school did a program for National Decision Day, she got Barry and Barry Stamps Scholars-themed cookies made!

Kendall is one of six Barry Stamps Scholars entering fall 2021. Congrats to Kendall for making Tabernacle proud.
