DAVIE, Fla.—Barry University’s baseball team dropped a heartbreaker to conference foe Nova Southeastern Tuesday night by a final score of 10-8.

The Bucs (4-8) grabbed an early three run lead on Adrian English’s first homerun of the season to start things off in the top of the first inning and a solo-homerun in the top of the second off the bat of James Young.

However, the Sharks(8-2) answered with a three run frame in the bottom of the second to even the score at three. Barry suffered no struggles offensively scoring runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings to go ahead 8-3.

Brad McAllister pitched six and a third innings of work scattering five runs and striking out two. The Sharks continued to battle, and were able to score seven unanswered runs in the final three innings.

Barry scored eight runs on 16 hits, but left 10 runners on base throughout the game. Luis Arrizurieta led the Bucs with a 4-for-5 performance including his first homerun of the season and four RBI. Sheehan Plannas and Bryant Elliot each finished with three hits and Adrian Ruiz with two on the night.

T.J. Mullins (1-3) allowed five runs in two and a third innings of work including three strikeouts.

Sean Tighe earned the win after working a scoreless ninth.

Areo Regoli led the Sharks with a 2-for-5 performance and a game winning walk-off two-run homerun in the bottom of the ninth to lift Nova over the Bucs.

The Bucs look to end the three game slide on Sunday at noon when they face the University of the Sciences in West Palm Beach, Fla.
